I am Julia Rodrigues Melo. I am a social entrepreneur
diving in the social innovation sector and putting together ideas into projects
A good thing about social entrepreneurs is that we all come up with some cool ideas and usually our life experiences are quite uncommon, so why am I one of them?
Welcome and read more about me below
A few words about me
I am Brazilian and I love being Brazilian. I am from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. My undergrad is on Social Communication in Puc Minas. Straight from university I went working on Bases do Aprendizado Project in the Amazon Forest, following my educational volunteering experience in CISV. After I post-graduated in Social Innovation Management, I am now the Program Coordinator for the
Amani Institute in São Paulo, Brasil
Since very young I loved how much you can learn from the culture/geographic/human differences that the world can offer you if you expose yourself enough. Fortunately I had the chance to travel around Middle East, Europe, East Africa, North America, Central America and Caribbean area and, of course South America. Traveling is a ongoing plan of my life, so hopefully I will get to know more and more of this world. In the American Continent I have a special story of a 9 month backpacking from Argentina up to the United States on 2013, lovely adventure!
I've lived in Belo Horizonte (Brasil), Winnipeg (Canada), Manaus (Brasil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Nairobi (Kenya) and now São Paulo, (Brasil), as a person from the world, funny enough I am back to my own country.
We might inspire each other
I believe in the power of exchanging ideas and experience.
